LITIGATION, ARBITRATION AND MEDIATION

The Litigation, Arbitration and Mediation practice area consists of the firms lawyers who conduct and oversee litigation, arbitration and mediation in the Federal and State courts in New York and throughout the world.  The practice area focuses on:

• Commercial disputes including breach of contract, unfair competition, defamation and privacy claims, shareholder disputes and derivative actions, employment discrimination, indemnity claims, first amendment, and dissolution proceedings
• Probate disputes including will contests, contested guardianships and heirship proceedings
• Intellectual property and art including copyright and trademark litigation and title disputes to works of fine art
• Real estate including contested transactions, quieting title and environmental cases
• Construction disputes including breach of contract, suretyship, mechanics lien, Lien Law 3A and construction defects
• Tax defense including IRS appeals, ERISA matters and litigation of tax disputes in U.S. Tax Court and U.S. District Court
• Employment disputes including breach of employment agreements, employee terminations, employment discrimination claims
